Celebrate Chinese New Year at F Restaurant

I am not Chinese but my stomach belongs to their cuisine… and last week, my tummy almost do a dragon dance while tasting what F Restaurant has to offer this coming Chinese New Year.

F Restaurant is Best Western Premier F1 Hotel‘s signature restaurant that offers delectable and mouthwatering buffet. For the Chinese New Year, they will be offering Chinese dishes such as Szechuan Chicken, Lechon Macau and Peking Duck to name a few, and yes, all these will be offered buffet style. But of course not all good things lasts forever.. this offering is for a limited time only..from January 16-31, 2012.

And these what made me busy last Friday afternoon..

For appetizer, we had the following dishes:

I first took a bite, I mean took some of this plain looking peanut.. and I was wrong.. this is more than just plain. The peanut was boiled with exact softness and the hint of cinnamon made it so flavorful..

This is pork knuckles in vinegar with a hint of sweetness..from the way it was presented, it gives me the impression that this is my typical kinilaw with some class (and more hotness on it).

This Cucumber with Garlic and Chili sauce is actually sweeter than expected.. with most of the appetizers being hot, the sweetness of this dish balanced it all.

This jelly fish is tastier than how it looks. It is bursting with flavor.. and the last one is Beef Kimchi..

Yes, I intentionally put this down here, because this is the best we got so far.. at first I was afraid to try it knowing I am not fond with kimchi but when I did, I can’t stop munching on it.

For soup, we had two:

Seafood Spinach and the one below Crab and Corn Soup..

I prefer the first one as the taste is not overpowering but I am pretty sure my kids would love the Crab and Corn soup specially that the serving is very generous on corn.

Before the main menu, we also tried fried noodles..

 Off to the main menu, which were all delectable, flavorful and appetizing..

Sichuan Chicken was not that hot, just enough for my tastebud..

This Deep fried pork ribs with salt and pepper is so tasteful!

Steamed Marlin with Soya Sauce is not my type of dish, I have a love and hate relationship with fish.

But when it comes to pork… I am in love! This Lechon Macau is as tastier as it is in the photo, see the bubbles on skin, and that’s because the skin is very crispy.. I had to shy away from the fat though.. I still love my life more than pork LOL

We had Hainanese chicken and Asparagus too.. then we were served with Sechuan Beef..

As for dessert, we had Mango Sago which is perfectly sweet.. the mango they used are so ripe! I want more!

In between the dishes served to us, this two stand out:

Roast Beef.. though not included in the Menu for the day, F Restaurant was very generous and served us with it..each bite I had, I think of my husband who’s a beef lover.. and with that, I made a mental note that we will be back for this one..

The pecking duck was so good that we asked for another serving.
